Holiday Tid-Bit

The holidays are full of fun things here and there. This is my documentation of some of the little things we did this season.  

I discovered the 25 Days of Christ.  It is the best thing we did this year to help us keep Christ a part of the season.  The kids got to paint and decorate the ornaments and each day we put on our "tree".  The kit also comes with daily readings about the life of the Savior.  It was perfect and a new tradition we will be doing each and every year!

I saw this cute idea here and thought I would whip some up for Jake to take to his preschool class.  Since he goes to a christian preschool, I was thrilled that we could share this message with his class.   (not something we can do once they get into elementary school :-(  Jake loved sharing them with his friends.

This year I made frozen cookie dough balls for our neighbors and friends.  Chris and I love freezing cookie dough and baking 2-4 on the nights we need a little treat.  So, I thought I would do the same for our friends.  And who doesn't love a little variety.  4 different kind of cookie dough.  This might be what I do each year... we will see.

I was able to go to Hannah's class party.  It was pajama day and they did a fun breakfast.  

I didn't post this in my last entry, so it gets to be included here.  How cute is that reindeer?!

Here are our christmas cards.  A little extra effort with the added touches, but so worth it.  And who doesn't love to read what people are up to with a little pictograph?  Always more fun to read this way :-)

We went to the Zoo Lights with our friends and enjoy the animals, cool air and  christmas lights.  It is one of my kids favorite thing to do at Christmas time.

And we saw Santa at the Zoo lights.  Isn't that the scariest Santa you have ever seen?  Even Graham things so.  Get us out of here!

Holiday Performances 2013

It has been a month since the hoop-la of the holidays have ended and I am just getting pictures up of the season.  Here are all the different performances we participated in this holiday season.

Ella had her elementary school Christmas (they don't call it that, but I do!) performance.  They did some really fun songs that I had never heard before.  Like Hip Hop Reindeer.  It was super cute.  

Then we had the girls Christmas Dance Recital.  I wish I could remember the songs they performed to, but I don't.. but you can tell from the costumes and props the theme behind their dances.

This girl doesn't pull off gangster very well... (thank heavens).  

Jake had his preschool performance and they did the Reindeer Pocky.  It was so cute. When they turned around to "stick their tail in" they had a cute little cotton tail.   Such a cute reindeer.

Last performance of the season was Hannah's piano recital.  She played Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.  She did a great job and always makes me so proud.
