Easter Dresses

Here are a bunch of pictures of Hannah and Ella's Easter dresses. Well, kinda. It was hard to get a good picture of both of them in their dresses, but at least you get the idea.

Easter Fun

We had a ton of fun this easter day. Hannah and Daddy woke up to baskets from the Easter Bunny. Hannah of course dove right in. Her breakfast consisted of a chocolate carrot. Then we went to church and came home to have our easter egg hunt (since we didn't get to it yesterday). She loved searching for all the eggs and then re-hiding them the second time in the spots they were the first time around. It was a photo opportunity bonanza for Mom! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

ROP

This photo was taken back in August of 2006 on our trip to Denmark. It is crazy how young Hannah looks in this picture and how much older she is now. And it hasn't even been a year.

One is never Enough

.... when it comes to books. Hannah is an avid reader... Yes, she reads books! She might not know the words, but she definitely knows what each page is about. And sometimes she does know the words (because she has memorized the book). We have a stack of books in every room of the house, because she has to carry them everywhere. She evens sleeps with them each and every night. I am always reading to her and now we have started going to the library each week. She loves to run down the aisles and pick out books. And then she has to carry them herself out of the library to the car. It is so fun to see this love for reading continue to grow! I can't wait (or maybe I can, because it can be expensive) for the day she is in school and can order books from Scholastic Books to add to her library. Do you remember those? Ordering and waiting for the day when the books arrived in class. It will be reliving it all over again through my child!

A little Help for Parents

I came across this great site that reviews dvds and the latest movies in theaters. But it isn't your typical movie review. PluggedIn reviews the content of each movie. Everything from positive elements, spiritual content, sexual and violent content, language, drug and alcohol content and other negative elements. Now, you can find out just what your kids (or you) might be watching before it is too late.

Here are two sample reviews... one for Blades of Glory and one for Happy Feet . Check it out.

Opinion Time

I am creating some t-shirts and would love some input as to which design you like the best. Share your opinion and help me out. You can click on the image to make it bigger.

Battle of the Bands

As you might have realized. I am struggling with finding music that Hannah and I can both enjoy. In a recent post, I talked about a CD I burned of different songs from movies that she loves. Well, that CD quickly became old, as I had to listen to it... well, all the time. So, here is a new CD Mary Had a Little Amp I discovered that might be interesting. I think I am going to buy it. The songs are for kids, but they are performed by artists I know and love. So, if you are experiencing the same battle in the car as i am... check it out.

Here are a list of artists and songs.

1. Pure Imagination - Maroon 5
2. We Walk - R.E.M.
3. Rainbow Connection - Dixie Chicks
4. Little Star - Madonna
5. Sing Along - Blue Man Group/Dave Matthews
6. Baby Mine - Bonnie Raitt
7. 3R's Song - Jack Johnson
8. Anchovie - Moby
9. Lifeline - Ann & Nancy Wilson/Brian Wilson
10. Gentle Breeze - Lou Reed/Laurie Anderson
11. Wild Wild Party In The Loquat Tree - Indigo Girls
12. How To Be Strong - Rosanne Cash
13. When You Wish Upon A Star - Joe Henry
14. Teach Your Children - Graham Nash

A is for Apple

Hannah loves to eat apples. At least the first 3-4 bites and then that is it. All Done! I think it is because she wants to eat it whole so she can be like her daddy.

My Girls

Today we had some fun with the camera. Ella was super happy after waking up from her nap and of course Hannah had to jump in too. This is first time I was able to get pictures of Hannah holding Ella. Some of them worked out, but mostly Ella looks like she is falling to her death. Enjoy!

Red Shoe Fashion

Here is what i think is a great photo from our latest zoo trip. I loved the colors and Hannah enjoying the flamingos. You gotta love the red shoes with the fushia pants. What can I do, she wants to wear them all the time. So, I let her (what a good mom I am :-) We are off to the zoo again this week. We have to get as many trips in as we can before it gets too hot!

Can't Have Enough

I found this simple and cute site of recipes. Carlene's Corner The recipes seem simple. They are yummy "out-of-the-ordinary" basics every kitchen should take time to make. I haven't tried them yet, but I will.

R.O.P.

So, what does R.O.P. stand for you might be wondering. Well, I like to play around with photos and photoshop (tweaking and playing with actions) So, every once in awhile I will post old photos that I have rediscovered on my blog site. I am calling them Random Old Photos... R.O.P.

Here is my first one. This was at sequoia last fall. I love this photo of the three of us, so I thought I would play with it and post it for fun. Enjoy!

Great Footage of our Planet

If you heard by now, Discovery Channel is doing a 11 part series called Planet Earth. We watched some of it today and it is amazing footage of animals and the earth. If you have a chance to watch it, I highly recommend it. New Episodes are shown on Sunday nights and if you have Comcast OnDemand, you can watch the latest epidsodes anytime.

March Memory Cards

Here are this months memory cards. Like all images i post, if you click on them, they will get bigger and you can see/read them better. Enjoy!

A New Kind of Egg

I was reminded of how much fun Jello can be. I just ordered the Jiggler Egg mold for Easter on the Jello site. I hope they come in time because these Jello Eggs would be so much fun to make and eat! But if they don't come in time, at least I will have it for next year. I think this is going to be a new Easter tradition.

Also, I purchased the Jell0-bean mold too. This one we can do anytime of the year and they make great little snacks! They are only $3.50 each plus Free shipping. Now, that is a deal if you ask me.

Nevermind

A while back, I talked about doing baby announcements for Ella's birth. Well, now that the time has come, I have had a change of mind. The thought of doing them seems a bit much and since everyone has seen pictures of her, I feel I probably don't need to do them. But I thought what I created was cute, so I am going to post them here for you to see. Consider this Ella's birth announcement.

A Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak Peak of Hannah's dance recital piece in June. She first (kinda) dances it (I don't know why she was being so shy about it) and then sings it as a solo (which is actually cuter than the dancing part).

That's what it's all about..

Finally, I was able to get some cute pics of Ella and Hannah together. The one that is at the top of the blog is my favorite and I will be blowing it up to an 11X14 for my photo wall collage. Hannah loves to lay down with Ella any chance she can get and then smoother her with hugs and kisses. That is what having a sister is all about

The Lost Sibling

Many of you might be wondering... Is Ella is missing or what we have done with her? I haven't taking pictures of her because I think to myself "she doesn't do anything by lie down and stare off into Never, never land and I have pictures of that". But my sister convinced me that I need to take pictures of her, so we will have them later on. Even if I don't think she does much or changes much, I need to have the pictures later on in life. So I have come to my senses and have taken some pictures of our dear Ella and will keep it up each week. I would hate for her to think she wasn't loved, just because I didn't have as many pictures of her as I do of Hannah :-)

Also, funny thing. About every other time I am out and about. People come up to me and say "I thought you were holding or carrying a doll." I laugh and think to myself... "yeah, I thought I would put a doll in my carseat and lug it around, just for fun." I know they are giving me a compliment and it is very nice of them, but what a wacko I would be.

I'm In Love

While my sister came to visit she told me about these cute little shoes at American Eagle (which she went and bought). They are super cute, but I am just not a flats person... I need a little height to my shoe. So, I had to pass on the purchase. But low and behold, I was at Banana Republic the other day and found the same cute shoes but with a little heel (and wedge, which I love). So, I had to order them (since they didn't have my size). I can't wait for them to come!!!!
