I'm tempted

The other day I was out and about on the web searching blogs and I came across this little gem. Okay, so this girl/woman reupholstered this chair all by herself and it was her first time ever reupholstering a piece of furniture. I have to say I am completely amazed.
How cute is this chair?!? So, of course it got me thinking. I now have a rocking chair just like it. I so badly want to sew a slipcover for it, so it can be just as cute! But the catch is that I have no idea how to do it, but I am seriously considering taking a stab at it.
So, we will see if I get up the guts to do something similar to my chair. If anyone has any advice.... I will take it. Please share.
PS: The woman also is a fantastic quilter too (if you are interested).

I am a friend of a friend of a friend who reads your blog occasionally. I actually just bought a rocking chair on Craig's list too with the intentions of covering it myself. Thanks for the inspiration, I have been hesitant to start the project but hey, it isn't rocket science, right? (My friend is Amy of paintedlollipop) Good Luck!
So my mother did this same thing when I was a teen. She did two things that I can remember; 1st: with crappy material tuck, pin, and practice sewing. 2nd: do the 'real' cover inside out in the beginning. I don't know if that helps, you seem to be pretty on top of things so I may just be telling you what you already know. But dang cute polk-a-dots!!
So I've never worked with a rocker, but I have reupholstered a chair and ottoman....its really not hard. I just removed all the fabric carefully and used that as my pattern. It worked great each time. Glad to have found your blog...your girls are so cute!
Wow! What an adorable chair. I love the fabric she used to reupholster it!
I have one that is very similar...just miniature for my 2 year old daughter. I would love to reupholster it in lavendar fabric, so any tips you find, please share:o)
I am totally inspired! Now all I need is a chair.
