What I am thinking...

Since, I haven't had the time or energy to do things (projects, creative-ness, fun things, etc), I thought I might share the things that are taking up my time and mind these days. Instead of projects, I will share thoughts. Mostly, because I need to vent and share my feelings with family and friends (and some strangers).

My current thoughts are about my two-year old Ella. She is smack-dab in the middle of the terrible two's. It is constant fits, crying, "no's" and tantrums in my house (and the stores which is what really puts me over the edge). The inability to communicate only makes things worse. As a mother with little sleep, hormones raging, lack of energy and recovering from a c-section, I really can't put up with much more of her.

And I don't like that I feel like this. I don't like that my life doesn't feel like anything I remember it to be. I don't know what to do. I know it is stage and it will all pass at some point. But I feel like I have been dealing with it for the past 6 months and probably have another 6 months to go .... and that is a long time in passing.

I pray constantly to have more patience with her. To not get emotional over what she does. I pray for guidance in how to relate to her, how to talk to her and how to help her to not act out and be "terrible". But I don't know if any of it is working or if I am even doing my part. I don't know what the solution is except maybe time.
Everyone always says that time passes so quickly and before I know it they will be older. I always think to myself, I can't wait for her to be older and not TWO.

I really do love my daughter and someday i know our days will be full of more fun moments and laughter instead of the crying and disciplining it tends to be these days. But until then, I have to share my thoughts and write my feelings down, just to get through it all.

I have been a lurker on your blog for quite a while. I don't even remember how I found it. You are so talented and creative, thank you for sharing. You inspire me, someday I want to be in Young Women's to use all of your cute ideas! I don't have any answers on how to get through toddler stages. I just had my 4th baby in April, and I understand how you feel. I wanted to thank you for your honesty. We always put forth our best face on our blogs, which is great! We need to share the good things we do and brag about ourselves and the good things in our lives. But a little honsety doesn't hurt either, thank you for being brave enough to put it out there. Keep praying and trying to be patient with her. I'll send up a prayer for you also. Being a mom can be so hard. You are such a good mommy to be concerned about it! Thanks again for your fun blog, you are a very neat lady!

I have found that locking my kids in the closet is the best remedy for bad behavior=)
Okay....kidding. I would n.e.v.e.r do that. I think that girls just come with an extra large dose of hormones and they have a tough time growing up and going through different phases. Both of my daughters had and are having rough patches and unacceptable public behavior, usually at very inopportune times. You will get through it and come to appreciate her strong will. She is certainly going to need it in the future!

After going what I went through after having Ethan, all I can say is just laugh when those moments happen. Try doing something funny to distract her from her tantrum and get her to laugh (although that can backfire sometimes and just make them more mad). But we'll talk so you can vent more when I see you at the cabin! Keep praying for help. I always forgot to do that.

Things will get better. My girls are raised and now in the same place you are. I smile when they call and talk to me about my "wonderful" grands... because I really do remember when they were like that.... and I remember all the joy they brought.... which makes up for those hard times. Hang in there mom, it is sooooo worth it all. "}
