First Day

Today is Hannah's first day of kindergarten. We are officially parents of a child in elementary school.

Last week, Hannah and I went to the mall and she picked out her first day of school outfit. Last night, we gave Hannah a blessing to start our her new school year. (and of course Ella got one too). Then today, dad came home from work and we all walked to school together. Hannah at first held my hand, but then as we got closer to school, she let go and took off running.

When we got there, she ran into some friends from preschool (which was cute) and then she met her teacher. I took her picture with her teacher and off she went into the classroom and didn't even turn around to wave goodbye. So, needless to say, she is ready and excited to be a kindergartener.

I am baking cookies for her arrival home and tonight we are going to paint handprints for FHE. I have to say I held up well. I didn't cry. I thought about it a couple of times, but didn't dwell on it much and since she was so happy, I didn't have to worry about her. I think 1st grade will be a whole different story for me.

Our Kindergarten is like your first grade. In Kindergarten Isabella went to school from 8-3. It was SO hard. 1st grade was so easy because she was used to it already.

I hope Hannah had a great first day! =)

Most of the parents I see have a really difficult time on the first and last day of 6th grade so you have some time. :)

I just sent Zoe off to Grade 1 this morning and she doesn't come home until 4pm!!! I'm feeling lonely with only two girls at home.

I love that Chris came home to help send Hannah off to her first day school, that is so sweet. You did a good job capturing the moment in that last pic.

Oh and let Hannah know that she did a great job picking out her outfit, it is adorable! I like the ruffles on her pants.

Love the picture by the huge sign. It will be cute to take a picture there each year and see how big she is getting. She looks so small next to it. I can't believe our girls are in kindergarten. It is exciting! Serenity had a great first day, but yesterday she had a hard time letting me go once we were at the school :(
