I need Help

I have to put together an activity for mutual next week and I haven't been able to come up with anything. I am still "recovering" (Or should I say adjusting) to life with three little ones. So, what i need is some ideas for an easy but fun mutual activity for my beehives. Please, any ideas (easy, please-y) would be great!

What about decorating flip flops with strips of material or even water balloons. You just tie the different strips of material or balloons to the straps of the flip flops. Every girl can just bring their own shoes and if any moms have some scraps of material. And the water balloons turn out really cute too.
Just a fun & cute idea! :)
a frozen t-shirt contest is always fun. Just get the t-shirts wet beforehand, fold them like a department store and freeze them. Whoever can get their t-shirt on the quickest wins something. Then have ice cream or something to go with it.
Pioneer woman has a great and easy cinammon roll recipe that is super yummy too and easy and if you have 8 or less girls, they could each make a pan. Yum!
Are there going to be at least 2 leaders with cars there? This may not work where you live because of the location, but you could adapt it to your area and the age of your girls. Do a "by choice or chance" activity. Pick a special location (we picked the temple, but you could choose something special close to you.) divide into as many cars as you have. Flip a coin at every stop sign or stop light. Heads - turn right. Tails - turn left. Keep flipping a coin until you reach your destination. At the end, talk about if you are going to ... get married in the temple, graduate from high school, go a mission, (whatever you want to focus on for your girls) ... by choice or by chance. Talk about making decisions now so you reach those goals by choice!!! Good luck!
A few favorite "go-to" activities:
Sidewalk chalk the bishop's driveway...lots of nice notes, let the girls be creative and draw fun stuff.
Homemade pizza night - have each girl bring a favorite topping...you provide dough, sauce and cheese. (you can do the pop-open dough or make your own...)
easy service project - go to your local library and have the girls clean the children's books. (our library provided all the supplies - we just provided the girls!)
Take the girls to your nearest temple grounds (hopefully you have some nearby?), divide them into groups of 2-3, give each group a point and shoot digital camera and have them take photos of each other. (you can give them a quick photography lesson at the beginning) Each girl gets to pick 10 pictures to have printed. My girls LOVE doing this...and they don't have many inhibitions about posing for their peers!
Hopefully these ideas help.... :)
Awesome ideas! We just had a mutual night where we introduced the girls to New Family Search. My beehives were the most into it out of the whole bunch! We spent 15 minutes introducing it to them on a large projector screen (at a memebers house) and then had several laptops all set up so that they could sign on create a username (member number and confirmation date needed) and then they entered in their pedigree chart they brought with them. Many of them now have names to take to our next temple trip and they are SO excited!
Ice blocking is always a hit! You just need to find a park that has some good hills but its a good time for all.
I was going to make the same comment as Amber above. We just did the flip flops yesterday (with my beehives) and they turned out cute. It was easy, we bought the flip flops at Michaels and they brought the scraps of material from their mom's stashes (I had extra in case they needed it). It did take longer than we thought it would and some girls had to bring it home to finish. But it was super easy and fun and they liked it.
What night is mutual? I can come over and we can do scrapbook pages to donate to Children's hospital. :)
They could write letters to the missionaries serving from your ward and/or put little packages together for them (depending on where you would have to mail them). They could do a food drive -- collecting canned goods from members of your ward (you could ask people to sign up and then leave the things on their porches for pick up). Is there someone in your ward that could use some help with a project?
thanks for soliciting all these great ideas!
I'm a sucker for "secret service"...the girls wear sun glasses & trench coats and you play Mission Impossible music...get some walkie talkies...and start doing anonymous service.
low key
cheap
fun.
Its kind of hot to bake but the cinnamon roll comment above got me thinking. We once had a beehive activity where we made homemade cinnamon rolls and then played the getting to know you M & M game while they were baking. It was perfect timing for us because we had several new girls. Put a large bag of M &M's in a bowl and ask the girls to take as many as they'd like. Then make up topics for each color such as: places you've traveled, favorite foods, something about your family, etc. Then go around in a circle and each girl has to name something for every M & M they took. We did this in color groupings so the girls took turns talking. It was a fun night.
Choose a couple of older sisters in your ward and provide a sevice for them. We chose to give each sister a manicure. Polished nails and rubbed their hands with lotion. During this time spent with this sister, we asked of their early church service, how they met their husband, what mutual was like for them etc. Upon leaving, we left a plate of fruit. The sisters we chose did not want us to leave. The YW loved doing this and those we served still remember the act of kindness.
